Currently Reading: Realistic Abstracts by Kees Van Aalst

This book is about painting what you see in an abstract way. Think of it as a figurative painting and an abstract painting having a child...a realistic abstract painting would be that child. A mix of these two forms of painting if you will. Something that is right down my alley.

This book is definitely not for people who are novice a painting. You have to have some type of background in painting or design to get through the first 76 pages otherwise you will become overwhelmed especially with the section regarding principles and elements of a picture.

The examples toward the end of the book have really inspired me and have seriously sparked my imagination.

Until next time, allow inspiration to find you!
