Spiderman Webbing Anyone? How to Make Faux Spider Webbing
A friend of mine contacted me about making spiderman webbing for a silent film he's creating for a school project. After reviewing some youtube videos and doing some research on the internet, I settled on making my webs using the following materials: aluminum foil, hot glue gun, and light gray embroidery thread.
Basically, the only thing I did was cut the embroidery thread to the length I wanted (2 ft) and placed straightened out on a piece of aluminum foil. I then ran a strip of hot glue along the length of the thread. This process was done 3-4 times on one side then the thread was flipped over and the process was repeated for the uncovered side of thread - remember to touch up any exposed thread. For the wall grasping end cap I just drew a web design on the aluminum foil, placed the embroidery thread over the design, and covered the thread 3-4 times with hot glue - once again, don't forget to touch up any exposed thread. If you want to attach the end cap to the strip of webbing simply hot glue the two pieces together.
I really hope these work for my friends project.
TIP: Lightly coat aluminum foil with vegetable oil to prevent the hot glue from sticking to it.
