Rhinestone Cup Chain Bangles
MATERIALS
E6000 glue, plain bangles with a flat surface, embroidery/friendship thread, rhinestone cup chain, scissors and wire cutters
STEPS
Step 1: Cut at least 84" of thread with scissors and 9.5" of rhinestone cup chain with wire cutters for each bangle you plan to create.
ASIDE: For this project, I used 2mm bangles with a flat surface and 3mm rhinestone cup chain.
Step 2: Glue the first 4-5 pieces of rhinestone cup chain to the surface of the bangle and let dry. Make sure you maintain all of the spacing provided by the thin chain between each rhinestone.
Step 3: Fold the 84" of thread in half (make sure the thread is even at the ends) and evenly tie a single knot onto the bangle right before the first piece of rhinestone cup chain. You should now have two pieces of 42" thread on either side of the bangle.
Step 4: Start crisscrossing the thread working from the back to the front and crossing in between the rhinestone pieces of the chain. Make sure to pull the thread taut as you wrap around each rhinestone in order to make sure the chain stays in place. You should have something similar to the pictures below:
Step 5: Continue the process of crisscrossing the threads until you have completed the entire bangle then knot off and place a dab of glue for added security.
ASIDE: I used two surgical knots to secure the thread then placed a dab of glue on and around the knot for added security.
Step 6: Now enjoy your new bangle!
Until next time, let inspiration find you!
