How to Make a Bracelet Display for Photography

I've recently been updating jewelry photos in the shop and have been running into some problems with taking decent photos of my bracelets. For some odd reason, me and bracelet photography have this love hate type of relationship. No matter how hard I try I just can't seem to get it right, either the chain won't curve the way I want it to or the hand mannequin wrist is too small or too big. Ugh! To remedy some of these obstacles I decided to make my own tubular bracelet display for photography. If you would like to know how I created the piece below, just continue reading.

MATERIALS

thick paper towel roll, old newspaper and scotch tape

STEPS

Step 1: Rip the newspaper in half and ball the pieces up into little paper balls.

Step 2: Stuff the paper balls into the paper towel roll. The goal is to make the paper towel roll as sturdy as possible so the more paper you can fit in there the better.

Step 3: Tape the ends of the paper towel roll with the scotch tape. You can be quite generous with the tape here. We don't want the paper balls popping out.

Step 4: This is how your roll should look once taped up. At this point you can decorate the roll however you see fit. Due to time constraints, I just simple wrapped a piece of white scrapbook paper around the paper towel roll and taped into place but eventually I plan on decoupaging the roll with white tissue paper. I will definitely post an update when this is done.

Until next time, let inspiration find you!
