DIY: Dimensional Accent Art
While in the process of redecorating the master bedroom and accessorizing on a budget, I stumbled onto a problem...a lot of wall space with nothing on it. Dum, dum, dum. What to do? What to do? Lightbulb!! Why not make my own accent art?
STEPS
1.) Use stencil and lightly draw out pattern on canvas.
2.) Outline stenciled patterned with dimensional paint and let dry according to instructions on bottle.
3.) While canvas dries, on scrapbook paper trace stencil pattern and cut out pieces.
4.) Paint canvas with acrylic paint and outline dimensional stenciled pattern with metallic acrylic paint. - let dry.

3.) While canvas dries, on scrapbook paper trace stencil pattern and cut out pieces.
4.) Paint canvas with acrylic paint and outline dimensional stenciled pattern with metallic acrylic paint. - let dry.
Just the burgundy paint and metallic paint didn't give the piece the dimensional look I wanted, so I added a brown acrylic paint to outline the dimensional pattern for a little added depth. Now embellished canvas with scrapbook paper using gloss gel medium as an adhesive.
Once everything is dry, seal it and you're done!
Until next time, allow inspiration to find you!
