Butterfly Cross-Stitch

Recently when I was browsing the aisles at the local craft store some type of magnetic force pulled me to the cross stitching kits in the sewing section. Granted I have not cross-stitched anything in years and I do mean years I found this neat kit and decided that I would dust off the old needle and thread.

I really liked this pattern because of the big beautiful butterfly placed front and center in the design along with the Chinese characters surrounding the butterfly. The character underneath the butterfly stands for omen and the characters along the side stand for happiness, good fortune, good health, and tranquility.

Since I was not the creative influence behind the design of this cross-stitch I have decided that I will have to add my own flare when it comes to framing this piece.

Although cross-stitch art is time consuming and requires more patience than other crafts to complete, I do love the results of it.

I think I may start dabbling in this form of art a little more. Who knows, next time I may even create my own pattern instead of using a kit ;0) Until next time, allow inspiration to find you!
