DIY: Revamped Gold Hoop Earrings

Recently I was cleaning out my jewelry box and came across two pairs of gold hoop earrings. Instead of tossing these earrings, I decided to convert them to drop earrings. However, just having plain gold drop earrings isn’t my style so I decided to dress them up with 4mm, 6mm, and 8mm wooden beads. If you are interested in knowing how I created these earrings just continue reading.

MATERIALS: hoop earrings, fish hook ear wires, bead assortment of choice, and strong bonding glue of choice

Step 1: Create a pattern with the beads of your choosing
Step 2: Place beads onto hoop earring
Step 3: Place one fish hook ear wire onto the hoop earring
Step 4: Place strong bonding glue of choice onto metal part of hoop earring
Step 5: Place glued metal part of hoop earring into opposite end and squeeze together for 30 seconds to 1 minute - for extra security I added a dap of glue where the two metal parts meet

You should now have something that looks like the picture below:

Step 6: Once glue has dried rotate beads around to cover the above metal seam.
Step 7: Repeat the above steps for the second earring hoop.

Voila! You now have a new pair of earrings that only took you a few minutes to create.

Until next time...allow inspiration to find you!
