Recipe Box: Canadian Bacon, Egg and Cheese Grilled Breakfast Sandwich


I had some left over Canadian bacon from my pizza making venture and I decided that I would use it for breakfast. For the complete recipe just continue reading.


Canadian Bacon, Egg and Cheese Grilled Breakfast Sandwich


Ingredients
2 slices of honey wheat bread
2 slices of Canadian bacon
1 large egg
1 slice cheddar cheese
2 tbsp butter
Salt and pepper


Directions
1) Heat 1 tbsp of butter in small skillet
2) Crack open large egg in bowl or cup -- season with salt and pepper -- mix
3) Once butter has completely melted make sure entire bottom of skillet is coated with butter then add egg
4) Make sure egg covers entire bottom of skillet and let fry 
5) While egg is frying place 1 tbsp of butter into another skillet
6) As butter starts to melt place one slice of bread in butter coating only one side
7) Remove slice of bread and allow butter to completely finish melting before placing other slice of bread in butter -- leave this slice in the butter
8) At this point your egg should be completely fried, fold in half and remove from heat
9) On slice of bread in butter top with 2 slices of Canadian bacon then cheese then folded egg -- top with the other buttered slice of bread buttered side up making a complete sandwich
10) Carefully flip entire sandwich and let cook for a minute before pressing contents together, let cook for a few seconds
11) Now carefully flip entire sandwich and let cook for a few more seconds before pressing contents together once again
12) Continue this process until sandwich is the color you like -- I usually cook until both sides are lightly browned and cheese begins to ooze out
13) Carefully remove sandwich from heat and cut in half
14) Serve and enjoy

****FYI: ALL COOKING DONE ON MEDIUM HEAT****
